01

Coligny Beach Park

Hilton Head’s most active public beach hub sits near Coligny Plaza on the south end. The park offers beach access, restrooms, showers, changing areas, swings, and a broad stretch of sand. It is an easy choice for visitors who want to pair the beach with nearby food, shopping, bike rentals, or a walk along Pope Avenue. Arrive early in busy seasons and use marked public parking rather than neighborhood spaces.

02

Driessen Beach Park

Driessen Beach Park is a popular mid-island option with a larger park setting, boardwalk access, restrooms, outdoor showers, a playground, and seasonal amenities. Its location off Bradley Beach Road makes it practical for families and longer beach days. The shoreline is wide enough for walking, and the surrounding park gives everyone a place to regroup before heading back to the car.

03

Islanders Beach Park

Near Folly Field, Islanders Beach Park is another dependable mid-island access point with a boardwalk, restrooms, showers, and a playground. It suits visitors staying in the nearby resort area as well as anyone looking for a straightforward public entry to the Atlantic. Check posted signage for seasonal parking rules and beach safety notices before setting out.

04

Burkes Beach

Burkes Beach has a more open, less commercial feel between the mid-island beach parks. Visitors reach it by boardwalk or sandy paths near Burkes Beach Road. It is often a good fit for walking, cycling at low tide, and a quieter stretch of shoreline. Facilities are more limited than at Coligny or Driessen, so plan to bring water and anything you will need for the day.

05

Fish Haul Creek Beach Park

On the north end, Fish Haul Creek Beach Park looks toward Port Royal Sound instead of the open Atlantic. It is a place for tide watching, birding, shell hunting, and sunsets rather than a typical surf-and-sand setup. The walk through the marsh edge is part of the experience. Respect the sensitive habitat, stay on established paths, and watch tide conditions around the creek.

06

Alder Lane Beach Access

Alder Lane is a convenient south-end beach access near the Forest Beach area. It is a useful alternative when you want to stay close to Coligny without entering the center of the plaza district. Public amenities and parking arrangements can change by season, so consult the Town of Hilton Head Island before you go.

Before you go

Use the beach like a local.

Check the tide, carry out everything you bring in, and follow posted rules for pets, bikes, parking, and wildlife. Sea turtle nesting season and shifting conditions are part of sharing this coastline well. For current rules, public-access information, and beach safety notices, verify plans with the Town of Hilton Head Island before leaving your stay.
